The Economist is an influential weekly news magazine that delivers highly readable and in-depth articles about the economy, business, politics, and government. Published continuously September 1843 onwards and with its average circulation crossing over 1.5 million, the magazine covers national and international issues with a primary focus on current news, politics and business. It also runs regular columns on science, technology and the arts. Every two weeks or so, the magazine prints a detailed special report on a specific topic around five main categories – Countries and Regions, Business, Finance and Economics, Science and Technology, and Other.

Every three months, it publishes Technology Quarterly (TQ), a special section covering the latest trends and developments in science and technology. The Economist is known for its bold and liberal stance on issues such as free trade, globalization, free immigration, global warming, gay marriages, and legalization of drugs, gun control and other contentious issues. In short, the magazine should be a ‘must have’ on the desk of every intelligent reader.

I found the content ok... but wanted to pause my subscription. I then discovered NO ONLINE cancel option. I had to discuss it with someone who spent the whole time trying to sell. This wasted considerable time and says a lot about the business. I will never again subscribe.

I find that the print has gotten smaller in the past few years. It is hard for senior citizens to read. This may have something to do with mailing costs, etc. I will not renew my subscription for this reason.

Great journalism but disgusting sales tactics when subscribing online. I have just spent half an hour justifying my decision to want to cancel and not auto renew my subscription. This is my decision, why can’t I do it simply online. This whole experience has cheapened what I thought the economist stood for, absolutely disgraceful marketing and sales tactics. Definitely has left a bitter taste in in my mouth, like it would appear has for many others. I suggest you have a good think before you alienate even more of your customer base. I expected better.
