ASK (Arts and Science for Kids) is a children's scientific magazine. Written for children 6 to 9 years old, it's the perfect way to introduce young, curious minds to science, history, inventors, artists, and more!
Published by the Cricket Magazine Group, which was founded in 1973 and specializes in quality magazines for kids, ASK is a fun and informative magazine that helps young readers improve their reading and thinking skills while answering all of their questions about science and the world around them.
With a perfect blend of education and entertainment, ASK is full of engaging ways to help curious and bright minds learn about science, history, inventors, artists, and more. Published nine times a year, each issue has a unique theme, whether it be related to space, animals, music, or another interesting topic. Ad-free, scientific articles and activities answer children's "how" and "why" questions. The content is perfect for kids who are ready for more challenging reading, and interactive sections get them reflecting on what they've learned and improved their critical thinking skills. But it's not just about learning; it's about fun, too! With comic strips, activities to get kids involved, and contests, young minds stay engaged and coming back for more. They'll particularly love Marvin and Friends, a group of crazy characters who appear in the margins and provide commentary on the articles.
ASK is the perfect magazine for young readers who love science and the arts and just can't stop asking questions!

I asked and she likes to receive this every month.
I purchased this for my daughter (10 yrs old) birthday. She was so excited when she received the 1st copy. She read cover to cover and while eating dinner had to quiz me on my knowledge...I believe it was truly an attempt to let me know that I "done know everything". Our fist copy had an article about clouds and she just learned this in school... she was about to pass up the article stating "I already know this stuff" when something caught her eye and she ask if she could bring it to her teacher at school. I would recommend this to any child/teacher as a gift. Very rewarding as it is harder and harder to purchase something other than movies/video games for the pre-teen era.
My nine year old loves this magazine. It seems to be well written and he really looks forward to receiving it every month.
The other cricket media mags are generally pretty good too.
My kids like Highlights magazine better, but will flip though the Ask and read some pages. The older kid said this is like studying, no fun.
Gave a four star, due to the price otherwise a 5/5.
