Ladybug is a preschool magazine for young children ages 2 to 6 that helps establish a love of reading at an early age.

Since 1990, Ladybug magazine has been delighting and affecting young children. Its content is written by some of the world's best children's authors and illustrated by award-winning artists. Ladybug features four recurring stories with charming characters (e.g., Max and Kate) set against a colorful, engaging backdrop. The art and literary publication also contain nonfiction educational articles about nature and culture and songs, games, poems and activities that help introduce young children to language and reading.

Each Ladybug issue's four regular stories include: "Max and Kate," which chronicles the everyday adventures of two best friends who are the title characters; "Mop and Family," a comic strip that follows the experiences of a brother and sister and their sheepdog, Mop; "Molly and Emmett," which keeps up with Molly and her mischievous cat, Emmett; and "Ladybug, Muddle and Thud," a rollicking trio who play a dual role by appearing in the margins throughout each issue in order to draw young readers into the content. Young children love reading about their friends' adventures! Ladybug magazine accepts no advertising, so stories and illustrations can be enjoyed by parents and young children without additional distractions.

Young children who are ready to open the door to reading will benefit from a subscription to Ladybug magazine.

Ordered November 22nd, and was told, the first issue will arrive February 9th. This seems long. Very long.\r\n\r\nWell, the first two magazines have finally arrived -- a few days after the promised date, and they seem pretty and engaging for the child.\r\n\r\nBut I\'m still sore over the delay.

I subscribed to Ladybug for one of my very young granddaughters, and she loves it. The graphics are beautiful and the content is appropriately innocent.

My daughter started receiving this magazine this year, and it\'s a lot of fun. It\'s like a much smaller version of Highlights, but with more fiction stories. Each issue has a loose theme, and includes a few stories, a couple poems, a song, a comic strip, and 1-3 puzzles. It\'s cute and great for kids under 7. It gets them to read/be read things they normally wouldn\'t pick out themselves.
